Speaker Bio
Hi, I'm Greg Parnell. I've been in recovery since 1995, and I've faced mental health and substance use challenges throughout my life. Since 2000, I've been a dedicated team member at Crestwood Behavioral Health, where I've worked in a variety of roles. Currently, I serve as the Director of Recovery, Education, Advocacy & Leadership (REAL). I'm also an Advanced Level Facilitator of WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) and a leader in our Corporate WRAP Committee, where we provide support to WRAP facilitators across our 40 programs.
In addition to my work in recovery and advocacy, I'm passionate about wellness, and Zumba? has been a key tool in my own journey. I've been teaching Zumba? since 2011 and it's become one of my favorite Wellness Tools. I introduced Zumba? to Crestwood in 2012, and I?m proud to have helped expand it statewide, launching the Crestwood Zumba? Program in 2015. In 2017, I became the Corporate Zumba? Instructor, overseeing Zumba programs at 36 of our 40 locations. I also mentor 59 employees who are now licensed to teach Zumba.
Zumba? has been more than just a physical workout for me - it has been an essential Wellness Tool for my spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness. It has helped me build a strong sense of community, fostering connections with both peers and the people we serve. Zumba? is a cornerstone of Crestwood's Wellness Initiative, offering benefits not just to staff but also to individuals in recovery, helping them feel supported and engaged in a positive, fun way.
Wellness is a journey, and I'm grateful to share Zumba? as a part of that journey with others.
